Results and certificates

Cambridge English exams are offered in more than 130 countries, and their levels are linked to the European CEFR scale (Council of Europe).

From exam to certificate

  1. Exam session Written part and speaking part
  2. About 4 weeks after the end of the session Results online
  3. About 7 weeks Certificate ready to collect

Exam results are available on Cambridge Assessment English website. The address of the website, results release date and an individual access code to the website are given on a Confirmation of Entry.

Exam papers are marked in Cambridge. Cambridge Assessment English does not make them available for candidates, schools or Exam Centres. It is not possible to see an exam paper after it has been marked or receive information about the scores of different parts of an exam.

Young Learners: shields instead of grades

Exam results are presented in an interesting way. There are no such grades as ‘pass’ or ‘fail’. Each child receives Cambridge English shields - a maximum of 5 shields for each part of the test. The number of shields obtained is then shown on a certificate, which a child receives after about a month from the date of taking an exam.

Collecting your certificate

As advised by Cambridge Assessment English, individual candidates collect their certificates at the Exam Centre personally or through a person authorised by them in writing. A legal guardian of an underage candidate having a different surname than the person represented by them should show an ID document confirming their right to represent the candidate.

The candidates registered for exams by universities, schools, firms and institutions are informed about the date and way of certificate receipt by the person registering them.

A2 Key, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency certificates are valid for an indefinite period.
